Step 1.
Begin by heating the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it is hot but not boiling.Step 2.
Add the cocoa powder and sugar to the milk, whisking until fully combined and smooth.Step 3.
Pour in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, stirring well.Step 4.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and serve the hot chocolate in mugs.Step 5.
Top each mug of hot chocolate with a generous dollop of whipped cream.Step 6.
