A citrusy delight, this homemade orange wine is a perfect choice for those wanting to experiment with winemaking at home. The delightful burst of flavour delivers a superb experience.

  • Step 1.

Wash and peel the oranges, making sure to remove the pith as it can make the wine bitter.
  • Step 2.

Juice the oranges and set the juice aside.
  • Step 3.

In a large pot, combine the orange juice, sugar, and chopped raisins.
  • Step 4.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Step 5.

Cool the mixture to the room temperature, then add the wine yeast.
  • Step 6.

Transfer to a fermentation vessel and fit with an airlock.
  • Step 7.

Let it ferment for about month in a cool, dark place.
  • Step 8.

After a month, strain the mixture and transfer to a clean and sterilised bottle.
  • Step 9.

Let it mature for another 3 months before consuming.
