Broccoli & Bacon Quiche Recipe

A classic dish loaded with flavour, this delectable quiche combines crispy bacon, tender broccoli, and a creamy centre.

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Step 2.

    Roll out pastry on a lightly floured surface until large enough to line base and sides of a 23cm-diameter loose bottom flan tin. Lift pastry into tin. Press into edges, trim excess. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3.

    Line pastry case with baking paper. Fill with pastry weights or rice. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove weights or rice and paper. Bake for 10 minutes or until light golden.
  • Step 4.

    Meanwhile, heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add bacon. Cook until crispy. Drain on paper towel.
  • Step 5.

    In the same pan, add broccoli and cook until tender.
  • Step 6.

    Scatter the onion, bacon and broccoli into the cooked pastry case. Whisk eggs, cream, and cheese in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over broccoli mixture.
  • Step 7.

    Bake for 25 minutes or until filling has set. Serve warm or cold.

  4. 1 Medium Red Onion

  5. 3 Large Eggs

  6. 125 mlHeavy Cream

  7. 100 gCheddar Cheese, greated

  8. 1 tspSalt

  9. 1 tspPepper
