METHOD
Step 1.
Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius, gas mark 2.Step 2.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, yeast, sugar, lemon zest, and spices.Step 3.
In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, lukewarm milk, and beaten egg.Step 4.
Combine the liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients and knead until you form a soft dough. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.Step 5.
Add the dried fruits and almonds to the dough and knead again. Form the dough into an oval shape and fold it lengthways.Step 6.
Place the dough on a baking tray lined with baking parchment. Leave in a warm place for about 30 minutes.Step 7.
Bake the stollen for about 40 minutes until golden brown.Step 8.
Melt the some butter and brush over the hot stollen, then sprinkle with a generous amount of powdered sugar.

2 tbspExtra butter, for brushing
50 gPowdered sugar, for dusting
