Gingerbread Hot Chocolate Recipe

Rich, warming hot chocolate infused with the cosy spiciness of gingerbread. The perfect treat to warm up with during the winter.

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Heat the milk and gingerbread syrup in a saucepan over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  • Step 2.

    In a separate bowl, whisk the cocoa powder and sugar, gradually add a few tablespoons of the hot milk to make a smooth paste.
  • Step 3.

    Gradually whisk the cocoa paste into the milk until smooth and hot.
  • Step 4.

    Pour into mugs, top with marshmallows and a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
  • Step 5.

    Serve immediately with a gingerbread cookie on the side as an added treat.

  1. 500 mlMilk

  2. 60 mlGingerbread syrup

  3. 2 tbspCocoa powder (unsweetened)

  4. 1 tbspGranulated sugar

  5. 1 cupMarshmallows

  6. 1 tspCocoa powder, for garnish

  7. 2 Gingerbread Cookies (optional)
