Homemade Alcoholic Apple Cider Recipe

METHOD
Step 1.
Chop apples into halves or quarters and remove any bruised or spoiled portions.Step 2.
Add the apples to a large stockpot and add enough water to cover the apples.Step 3.
Add in the spices and sugar and bring everything to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cover, letting the mixture cook for an hour.Step 4.
After an hour, use a potato masher to thoroughly mash the apples and then let the mixture simmer uncovered for an additional two hours.Step 5.
Pour the mixture in a strainer, catching the juices in a clean container. Once all the juice has been strained, pour it back into the stockpot and add the yeast. Let it sit, covered, for a week.Step 6.
After a week, strain the mixture one more time and bottle your cider. It’s ready to drink right away, but the flavour improves the longer it's stored!

400 gWhite granulated sugar
8 Whole cloves
4 Whole allspice
4 Cinnamon sticks
1 tbspBrewing yeast
