METHOD
Step 1.
Begin by preheating your oven to 180°C.Step 2.
In a bowl, mix the apple sauce, honey, soy sauce, and garlic to create the glaze.Step 3.
Season the pork chops with salt and pepper, then sear them in a hot pan with olive oil until golden on each side.Step 4.
Place the seared pork chops in a baking dish and cover them with the apple glaze. Roast in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until thoroughly cooked, basting occasionally with the pan juices.Step 5.
Meanwhile, rinse the basmati rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.Step 6.
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, add the rice and a pinch of salt, then lower the heat. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.Step 7.
Remove from heat and let the rice stand covered for 10 minutes, then fluff it with a fork.Step 8.
Serve the baked pork chops over the fluffy rice, spooning extra glaze from the baking dish over the top.Step 9.
Optionally, garnish with finely chopped spring onions or fresh herbs before serving.
