Toffee Apples Recipe
Classic red toffee apples, a traditional and irresistible treat perfect for Halloween or a bonfire night.

METHOD
Step 1.
Insert a wooden skewer or stick into the top of each apple.Step 2.
Add the sugar and 100ml water to a pan and heat gently until sugar is dissolved.Step 3.
Add the vinegar, syrup and food colouring. Boil until it reaches 150C or until a small amount of mixture dropped into cold water forms hard, brittle threads.Step 4.
Remove from the heat, then carefully dip each apple into the hot syrup – try to cover each one fully.Step 5.
Leave to cool on a baking tray.Step 6.
Once the caramel coating has set serve and enjoy!

6 Medium-sized apples
400 gCaster sugar
1 tbspWhite vinegar
4 tbspGolden syrup
4 dropsRed food colouring
6 Wooden skewers or sticks
