METHOD
Step 1.
Prepare your favourite cake recipe or use a store-bought cake and crumble it into a large bowl.Step 2.
Mix the crumbled cake with 120g of frosting until you have a moist, dough-like consistency.Step 3.
Roll the mixture into small balls, approximately 1 inch in size, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.Step 4.
Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up.Step 5.
Melt 300g of dark chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave, stirring occasionally until smooth.Step 6.
Using a fork or skewer, dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's completely coated. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before placing back on the parchment paper.Step 7.
Sprinkle crushed pistachios over the chocolate while it's still wet.Step 8.
Refrigerate the cake balls for another hour or until the chocolate sets.Step 9.
Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.Step 10.
Sprinkle with icing sugar just before serving.
