Festive Holiday Eggnog Recipe

This homemade eggnog is thick, creamy and packed with the holiday spirit. It's perfect for sipping on a chilly winter night!

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks until they become slightly lighter in colour.
  • Step 2.

    Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved.
  • Step 3.

    Add the milk, cream, bourbon, nutmeg and stir to combine.
  • Step 4.

    In another bowl, beat the egg whites to soft peaks.
  • Step 5.

    Gradually add the remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Step 6.

    Whisk the egg whites into the eggnog mixture.
  • Step 7.

    Rim the glasses, first with the gingerbread syrup then with the cinnamon sugar.
  • Step 8.

    Serve the eggnog chilled, top with whipped cream if desired.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 6 Egg yolks

  2. 150 gSugar

  3. 500 mlMilk

  4. 250 mlDouble cream

  5. 60 mlBourbon

  6. 1 tspFreshly grated nutmeg

  7. 6 Egg whites

  8. 1 tspCinnamon Sugar, for the rim

  9. 0.5 tspGingerbread syrup, for the rim

  10. 6 tbspWhipped cream, topping (optional)
