Homemade Coconut Milk Recipe

A fresh and creamy milk alternative, this homemade coconut milk recipe is surprisingly simple, delicious and whips up in no time. It's perfect for those who want a dairy-free, lactose-free, or vegan milk option.





  • Step 1.

    Break open the coconut and pour the coconut water into a jar, you can save it to drink later or discard it. You wont need the coconut water for this recipe. Set aside the coconut meat.
  • Step 2.

    Rinse the coconut meat under cool water and place it into a blender. Add 4 cups of water to the blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 3.

    Pour the mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into a jar. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible, then discard the coconut pulp.
  • Step 4.

    Store the milk in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Shake before using, as it may separate.
