Mini Spiced Apple Pie Tarts Recipe

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Prepare the pastry: Mix flour and salt together, then add butter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Add water a spoon at a time until pastry forms a ball. Wrap in clingfilm and chill for at least an hour.
  • Step 2.

    Preheat the oven to 200°C and lightly grease a tart pan.
  • Step 3.

    On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry and cut to fit your tart pans. Press gently into the pans.
  • Step 4.

    Prepare the filling: Mix the apples, sugars, spices, and lemon juice, then evenly distribute among the tart shells.
  • Step 5.

    Roll out the remaining pastry and cut into lattice strips. Arrange on top of the apple mixture.
  • Step 6.

    Bake tarts in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until lattice tops are golden brown.
  • Step 7.

    Cool on a wire rack before serving with a squirt of whipped cream and a sprinkle of icing sugar.
