Tomato Chutney & Cheese Pastry Rolls Recipe

These cheesy, tangy pastry rolls filled with home-made tomato chutney are perfect for a light lunch or a delicious appetiser.

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Start by preheating the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.
  • Step 2.

    Next, place all the tomato chutney ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil. After reaching the boiling point, simmer for 1 hour until the mixture thickens.
  • Step 3.

    While the chutney is cooling, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles. Then, spread the chutney and sprinkle cheese over each rectangle.
  • Step 4.

    Roll up the pastry rectangles with the chutney/cheese on the inside. Lay them on their sides on the baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg.
  • Step 5.

    Finally, bake in the already heated oven for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown. Serve warm.
