METHOD
Step 1.
In a large bowl, combine the water, sugar and yeast. Let it sift for 5-10 minutes until the mixture is foamy.Step 2.
Stir in the salt and gradually add the flour, mixing with the dough hook until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.Step 3.
Knead the dough by hand on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.Step 4.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean, damp cloth. Let it rise for 2 hours, or until doubled in size.Step 5.
Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Shape it into a loaf and place in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.Step 6.
Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour, until it's doubled in size.Step 7.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.Step 8.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
