METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Rinse the rice under running water until the water runs clear. This removes the excess starch from the rice.
  • Step 2.

    In a large, heavy-bottomed pot pour the milk and bring it to a boil.
  • Step 3.

    Add the rinsed rice, sugar and vanilla extract to the pot. Stir well.
  • Step 4.

    Simmer on a low heat for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom.
