Apple Crumble Traybake Recipe

A delightful twist on a classic dessert, made to share with friends and family. The perfect combination of juicy apple filling, a buttery traybake and the crispy crumble topping will have everyone wanting more.

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4.
  • Step 2.

    Peel, core, and chop the apples. Place in a saucepan with lemon juice and 2tsp of sugar. Cook over low heat until softened.
  • Step 3.

    While the apples are cooking, mix together the flour, oats, 100g sugar and butter in a bowl until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Step 4.

    Pour the apple mixture into a rectangular baking tray. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly across the top.
  • Step 5.

    Bake for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Let it cool slightly on a wire rack before slicing.
  • Step 6.

    Serve warm with custard or ice cream.
