Cherry & Apple Puff Pastry Roulade Recipe

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Preheat your oven to 190°C (Gas Mark 5) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Step 2.

    In a saucepan, combine cherries and diced apples. Simmer on low heat until soft.
  • Step 3.

    On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle. Sprinkle evenly with cinnamon.
  • Step 4.

    Spread the cherry apple mixture over the cinnamon-layered pastry.
  • Step 5.

    Roll up the pastry tightly from one of the long sides towards the other, sealing the edges by pinching together.
  • Step 6.

    Cut the roll into slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Step 7.

    Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed up.
  • Step 8.

    While the roulade is baking, warm the custard.
  • Step 9.

    Serve warm roulades with a generous serving of vanilla custard.
