Fig & Emmental Cheese Crostini Recipe

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Step 2.

    Slice the baguette into 1cm thick pieces and arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Step 3.

    Drizzle olive oil over the baguette slices and toast in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  • Step 4.

    While the bread is toasting, slice the figs into thin wedges.
  • Step 5.

    Once the bread is toasted, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
  • Step 6.

    Top each slice of toasted baguette with a slice of Emmental cheese.
  • Step 7.

    Place a piece of fig on top of the cheese.
  • Step 8.

    Return the tray to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  • Step 9.

    Garnish with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkling of freshly chopped thyme.
  • Step 10.

    Serve immediately and enjoy!
