Gingerbread Snowflake Cookies Recipe

METHOD
Step 1.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking soda.Step 2.
In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.Step 3.
Blend in the treacle and egg.Step 4.
Gradually add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until it forms a dough.Step 5.
Wrap the dough in clingfilm and refrigerate for 2 hours.Step 6.
Preheat your oven to 180 C / Gas 4.Step 7.
Roll out your dough to a thickness of about 3mm on a lightly floured surface.Step 8.
Cut out your snowflake shapes using a cookie cutter and place them onto a greased baking tray.Step 9.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.Step 10.
Decorate your snowflakes with icing once they have cooled down.
