Gingerbread Snowflake Cookies Recipe

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    In a large bowl, mix together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking soda.
  • Step 2.

    In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.
  • Step 3.

    Blend in the treacle and egg.
  • Step 4.

    Gradually add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and mix until it forms a dough.
  • Step 5.

    Wrap the dough in clingfilm and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Step 6.

    Preheat your oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  • Step 7.

    Roll out your dough to a thickness of about 3mm on a lightly floured surface.
  • Step 8.

    Cut out your snowflake shapes using a cookie cutter and place them onto a greased baking tray.
  • Step 9.

    Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  • Step 10.

    Decorate your snowflakes with icing once they have cooled down.

  8. 200 gBrown sugar

  9. 120 mlTreacle

  10. 1 Egg

  11. 1 cupIcing, for decoration
