
Mussels in White Wine Sauce Recipe

METHOD
- Step 1.Clean the mussels under cold water, removing any beards and discarding any that remain open when tapped.
- Step 2.In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped shallots and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 2 minutes.
- Step 3.Pour in white wine and bring to a simmer. Add the cleaned mussels, cover the pot, and let them steam for about 5-7 minutes, until the mussels have opened. Discard any that do not open.
- Step 4.Using a slotted spoon, transfer the mussels to a serving dish, leaving the sauce in the pot.
- Step 5.Stir fresh cream into the sauce and simmer for 3 minutes. Season with chopped fresh parsley, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Step 6.Pour the sauce over the mussels and garnish with additional parsley.
- Step 7.Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping.
