Traditional Italian Arancini Balls Recipe

METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Prepare the risotto rice according to packet instructions, set aside to cool
  • Step 2.

    In a pan, sauté onions and garlic until translucent
  • Step 3.

    Add the tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Step 4.

    Combine the cooled risotto, sautéed onions, garlic, tomato sauce, peas and mozzarella
  • Step 5.

    Shape the mixture into balls, about the size of a golf ball
  • Step 6.

    Set up a breading station: one bowl with flour, one with beaten eggs, and another with breadcrumbs
  • Step 7.

    Roll each ball in the flour, dip in the egg, and then coat in breadcrumbs
  • Step 8.

    Deep fry the balls until golden brown

    Set on a paper towel to drain excess oil
