METHOD

  • Step 1.

    Combine cocoa powder and maple syrup in a pan over low-medium heat, stir until fully combined to create a chocolate syrup.
  • Step 2.

    In a blender, add canned coconut milk and the chocolate syrup. Blend together until the mixture is smooth.
  • Step 3.

    Add dark chocolate pieces to the mixture then blend again.
  • Step 4.

    Pour the mixture into a covered dish and freeze for at least two hours or until firm.
  • Step 5.

    Before serving let the gelato sit at room temperature for a few minutes then scoop and serve.
